Omschrijving:
Opnieuw gaat een lang gekoesterde wens in vervulling: een uitgebreide reis door Mongolie. Een land en cultuur die me al lange tijd fascineert. En het is een buitengewoon interessant moment om Mongolië te bezoeken. Het land gaat een enorme, economische transformatie tegemoet dankzij de exploitatie van zijn enorme ertsvoorraden, zoals koper, uranium en goud. Er zijn ook initiatieven rondom alternatieve energie zoals wind- en zonne-energie. Deze ontwikkelingen brengen kansen maar gaan ook gepaard met enorme uitdagingen zoals toenemende corruptie, milieuproblemen zoals vervuiling en verzanding van weidegronden. Hoe kunnen de mensen een gezond evenwicht vinden tussen het behoud van hun traditionele nomadencultuur en tegelijker tijd een moderne samenleving ontwikkelen? In welke richting zal het land zich ontwikkelen? Waar dient de focus op te liggen? Hoe kan corruptie binnen perken worden gehouden terwijl de inkomsten van het land de komende jaren enorm zullen groeien? Hoe kan het land optimaal gebruik maken van zijn rijkdom aan bodemschatten en het geld zodanig inzetten dat de kwaliteit van de infrastructuur wordt verbeterd, b.v. in de ger-districten in Ulaan Baatar waar bewoners niet zijn aangesloten op het waterleidingsnet en geen riolering beestaat maar ook de verouderde, Russische stadsverwarming is aan vernieuwing toe, de kwaliteit van de gezondheidszorg en het onderwijs zijn verslechterd sinds het vertrek van de Russen begin jaren negentig. Hoe voorkom je dat de industrialisatie niet leidt tot een groter gat tussen rijk en arm maar dat er een gezonde middenklasse ontstaat?
Ik ben benieuwd of al deze economische en technologische ontwikkelinge te verenigen of tenminste in eenklang te brengen zijn met de traditionele, nomadische levensstijl. Zijn er mensen die daar ideeën over hebben? Wie zijn deze mensen? Hebben ze voldoende invloed en hoe zien ze die ontwikkelingen?
Het land kent ook veel sociale problemen. Zo is alcoholimse en daarmee gepaard gaand huiselijk geweld een wijdverspreide probleem. Veel jongeren in UB zijn werkloos en hebben weinig toekomstperspectief. Aan de andere kant zijn veel jonge mensen naar het buitenland vertrokken om te studeren en keren terug naar hun land om een bijdrage aan een positieve ontwikkeling te leveren. Ik zou heel graag met vertegenwoordigers uit beide groepen willen praten.
Kortom, ik verheug me op de mensen van dit prachtige land van de blauwe hemel (trouwens met een van de meest verontreinigde hoofdsteden ter wereld dankzij de slechte kolen die worden gestookt in de barkoude winters), op de leegte en wijdsheid van de steppen, de eenvoud van het nomadisch bestaan, de ruige bergwereld van de Altaï, het mogen meemaken van oude tradities als de jacht met adelaars of misschien een jamanenritueel.

Monoglia - a country on a crossroad to the future
Omschrijving:
Opnieuw gaat een lang gekoesterde wens in vervulling: een uitgebreide reis door Mongolie. Een land en cultuur die me al lange tijd fascineert. En het is een buitengewoon interessant moment om Mongolië te bezoeken. Het land gaat een enorme, economische transformatie tegemoet dankzij de exploitatie van zijn enorme ertsvoorraden, zoals koper, uranium en goud. Er zijn ook initiatieven rondom alternatieve energie zoals wind- en zonne-energie. Deze ontwikkelingen brengen kansen maar gaan ook gepaard met enorme uitdagingen zoals toenemende corruptie, milieuproblemen zoals vervuiling en verzanding van weidegronden. Hoe kunnen de mensen een gezond evenwicht vinden tussen het behoud van hun traditionele nomadencultuur en tegelijker tijd een moderne samenleving ontwikkelen? In welke richting zal het land zich ontwikkelen? Waar dient de focus op te liggen? Hoe kan corruptie binnen perken worden gehouden terwijl de inkomsten van het land de komende jaren enorm zullen groeien? Hoe kan het land optimaal gebruik maken van zijn rijkdom aan bodemschatten en het geld zodanig inzetten dat de kwaliteit van de infrastructuur wordt verbeterd, b.v. in de ger-districten in Ulaan Baatar waar bewoners niet zijn aangesloten op het waterleidingsnet en geen riolering beestaat maar ook de verouderde, Russische stadsverwarming is aan vernieuwing toe, de kwaliteit van de gezondheidszorg en het onderwijs zijn verslechterd sinds het vertrek van de Russen begin jaren negentig. Hoe voorkom je dat de industrialisatie niet leidt tot een groter gat tussen rijk en arm maar dat er een gezonde middenklasse ontstaat?
Ik ben benieuwd of al deze economische en technologische ontwikkelinge te verenigen of tenminste in eenklang te brengen zijn met de traditionele, nomadische levensstijl. Zijn er mensen die daar ideeën over hebben? Wie zijn deze mensen? Hebben ze voldoende invloed en hoe zien ze die ontwikkelingen?
Het land kent ook veel sociale problemen. Zo is alcoholimse en daarmee gepaard gaand huiselijk geweld een wijdverspreide probleem. Veel jongeren in UB zijn werkloos en hebben weinig toekomstperspectief. Aan de andere kant zijn veel jonge mensen naar het buitenland vertrokken om te studeren en keren terug naar hun land om een bijdrage aan een positieve ontwikkeling te leveren. Ik zou heel graag met vertegenwoordigers uit beide groepen willen praten.
Kortom, ik verheug me op de mensen van dit prachtige land van de blauwe hemel (trouwens met een van de meest verontreinigde hoofdsteden ter wereld dankzij de slechte kolen die worden gestookt in de barkoude winters), op de leegte en wijdsheid van de steppen, de eenvoud van het nomadisch bestaan, de ruige bergwereld van de Altaï, het mogen meemaken van oude tradities als de jacht met adelaars of misschien een jamanenritueel.

Monoglia - a country on a crossroad to the future
Omschrijving:
Opnieuw gaat een lang gekoesterde wens in vervulling: een uitgebreide reis door Mongolie. Een land en cultuur die me al lange tijd fascineert. En het is een buitengewoon interessant moment om Mongolië te bezoeken. Het land gaat een enorme, economische transformatie tegemoet dankzij de exploitatie van zijn enorme ertsvoorraden, zoals koper, uranium en goud. Er zijn ook initiatieven rondom alternatieve energie zoals wind- en zonne-energie. Deze ontwikkelingen brengen kansen maar gaan ook gepaard met enorme uitdagingen zoals toenemende corruptie, milieuproblemen zoals vervuiling en verzanding van weidegronden. Hoe kunnen de mensen een gezond evenwicht vinden tussen het behoud van hun traditionele nomadencultuur en tegelijker tijd een moderne samenleving ontwikkelen? In welke richting zal het land zich ontwikkelen? Waar dient de focus op te liggen? Hoe kan corruptie binnen perken worden gehouden terwijl de inkomsten van het land de komende jaren enorm zullen groeien? Hoe kan het land optimaal gebruik maken van zijn rijkdom aan bodemschatten en het geld zodanig inzetten dat de kwaliteit van de infrastructuur wordt verbeterd, b.v. in de ger-districten in Ulaan Baatar waar bewoners niet zijn aangesloten op het waterleidingsnet en geen riolering beestaat maar ook de verouderde, Russische stadsverwarming is aan vernieuwing toe, de kwaliteit van de gezondheidszorg en het onderwijs zijn verslechterd sinds het vertrek van de Russen begin jaren negentig. Hoe voorkom je dat de industrialisatie niet leidt tot een groter gat tussen rijk en arm maar dat er een gezonde middenklasse ontstaat?
Ik ben benieuwd of al deze economische en technologische ontwikkelinge te verenigen of tenminste in eenklang te brengen zijn met de traditionele, nomadische levensstijl. Zijn er mensen die daar ideeën over hebben? Wie zijn deze mensen? Hebben ze voldoende invloed en hoe zien ze die ontwikkelingen?
Het land kent ook veel sociale problemen. Zo is alcoholimse en daarmee gepaard gaand huiselijk geweld een wijdverspreide probleem. Veel jongeren in UB zijn werkloos en hebben weinig toekomstperspectief. Aan de andere kant zijn veel jonge mensen naar het buitenland vertrokken om te studeren en keren terug naar hun land om een bijdrage aan een positieve ontwikkeling te leveren. Ik zou heel graag met vertegenwoordigers uit beide groepen willen praten.
Kortom, ik verheug me op de mensen van dit prachtige land van de blauwe hemel (trouwens met een van de meest verontreinigde hoofdsteden ter wereld dankzij de slechte kolen die worden gestookt in de barkoude winters), op de leegte en wijdsheid van de steppen, de eenvoud van het nomadisch bestaan, de ruige bergwereld van de Altaï, het mogen meemaken van oude tradities als de jacht met adelaars of misschien een jamanenritueel.

Monoglia - a country on a crossroad to the future
Omschrijving:
Opnieuw gaat een lang gekoesterde wens in vervulling: een uitgebreide reis door Mongolie. Een land en cultuur die me al lange tijd fascineert. En het is een buitengewoon interessant moment om Mongolië te bezoeken. Het land gaat een enorme, economische transformatie tegemoet dankzij de exploitatie van zijn enorme ertsvoorraden, zoals koper, uranium en goud. Er zijn ook initiatieven rondom alternatieve energie zoals wind- en zonne-energie. Deze ontwikkelingen brengen kansen maar gaan ook gepaard met enorme uitdagingen zoals toenemende corruptie, milieuproblemen zoals vervuiling en verzanding van weidegronden. Hoe kunnen de mensen een gezond evenwicht vinden tussen het behoud van hun traditionele nomadencultuur en tegelijker tijd een moderne samenleving ontwikkelen? In welke richting zal het land zich ontwikkelen? Waar dient de focus op te liggen? Hoe kan corruptie binnen perken worden gehouden terwijl de inkomsten van het land de komende jaren enorm zullen groeien? Hoe kan het land optimaal gebruik maken van zijn rijkdom aan bodemschatten en het geld zodanig inzetten dat de kwaliteit van de infrastructuur wordt verbeterd, b.v. in de ger-districten in Ulaan Baatar waar bewoners niet zijn aangesloten op het waterleidingsnet en geen riolering beestaat maar ook de verouderde, Russische stadsverwarming is aan vernieuwing toe, de kwaliteit van de gezondheidszorg en het onderwijs zijn verslechterd sinds het vertrek van de Russen begin jaren negentig. Hoe voorkom je dat de industrialisatie niet leidt tot een groter gat tussen rijk en arm maar dat er een gezonde middenklasse ontstaat?
Ik ben benieuwd of al deze economische en technologische ontwikkelinge te verenigen of tenminste in eenklang te brengen zijn met de traditionele, nomadische levensstijl. Zijn er mensen die daar ideeën over hebben? Wie zijn deze mensen? Hebben ze voldoende invloed en hoe zien ze die ontwikkelingen?
Het land kent ook veel sociale problemen. Zo is alcoholimse en daarmee gepaard gaand huiselijk geweld een wijdverspreide probleem. Veel jongeren in UB zijn werkloos en hebben weinig toekomstperspectief. Aan de andere kant zijn veel jonge mensen naar het buitenland vertrokken om te studeren en keren terug naar hun land om een bijdrage aan een positieve ontwikkeling te leveren. Ik zou heel graag met vertegenwoordigers uit beide groepen willen praten.
Kortom, ik verheug me op de mensen van dit prachtige land van de blauwe hemel (trouwens met een van de meest verontreinigde hoofdsteden ter wereld dankzij de slechte kolen die worden gestookt in de barkoude winters), op de leegte en wijdsheid van de steppen, de eenvoud van het nomadisch bestaan, de ruige bergwereld van de Altaï, het mogen meemaken van oude tradities als de jacht met adelaars of misschien een jamanenritueel.

[description] => Opnieuw gaat een lang gekoesterde wens in vervulling: een uitgebreide reis door Mongolie. Een land en cultuur die me al lange tijd fascineert. En het is een buitengewoon interessant moment om Mongolië te bezoeken. Het land gaat een enorme, economische transformatie tegemoet dankzij de exploitatie van zijn enorme ertsvoorraden, zoals koper, uranium en goud. Er zijn ook initiatieven rondom alternatieve energie zoals wind- en zonne-energie. Deze ontwikkelingen brengen kansen maar gaan ook gepaard met enorme uitdagingen zoals toenemende corruptie, milieuproblemen zoals vervuiling en verzanding van weidegronden. Hoe kunnen de mensen een gezond evenwicht vinden tussen het behoud van hun traditionele nomadencultuur en tegelijker tijd een moderne samenleving ontwikkelen? In welke richting zal het land zich ontwikkelen? Waar dient de focus op te liggen? Hoe kan corruptie binnen perken worden gehouden terwijl de inkomsten van het land de komende jaren enorm zullen groeien? Hoe kan het land optimaal gebruik maken van zijn rijkdom aan bodemschatten en het geld zodanig inzetten dat de kwaliteit van de infrastructuur wordt verbeterd, b.v. in de ger-districten in Ulaan Baatar waar bewoners niet zijn aangesloten op het waterleidingsnet en geen riolering beestaat maar ook de verouderde, Russische stadsverwarming is aan vernieuwing toe, de kwaliteit van de gezondheidszorg en het onderwijs zijn verslechterd sinds het vertrek van de Russen begin jaren negentig. Hoe voorkom je dat de industrialisatie niet leidt tot een groter gat tussen rijk en arm maar dat er een gezonde middenklasse ontstaat?
Ik ben benieuwd of al deze economische en technologische ontwikkelinge te verenigen of tenminste in eenklang te brengen zijn met de traditionele, nomadische levensstijl. Zijn er mensen die daar ideeën over hebben? Wie zijn deze mensen? Hebben ze voldoende invloed en hoe zien ze die ontwikkelingen?
Het land kent ook veel sociale problemen. Zo is alcoholimse en daarmee gepaard gaand huiselijk geweld een wijdverspreide probleem. Veel jongeren in UB zijn werkloos en hebben weinig toekomstperspectief. Aan de andere kant zijn veel jonge mensen naar het buitenland vertrokken om te studeren en keren terug naar hun land om een bijdrage aan een positieve ontwikkeling te leveren. Ik zou heel graag met vertegenwoordigers uit beide groepen willen praten.
Kortom, ik verheug me op de mensen van dit prachtige land van de blauwe hemel (trouwens met een van de meest verontreinigde hoofdsteden ter wereld dankzij de slechte kolen die worden gestookt in de barkoude winters), op de leegte en wijdsheid van de steppen, de eenvoud van het nomadisch bestaan, de ruige bergwereld van de Altaï, het mogen meemaken van oude tradities als de jacht met adelaars of misschien een jamanenritueel.
